On the 13th June, 2025, Shea Agro Nig Ltd attended the official flag-off of Thrive Agric’s tree-planting exercise in Niger State, part of their climate-smart agriculture program in partnership with @AGRA.
The Chairman/CEO of Shea Agro Nig Ltd, Mohammed Ahmed Kontagora, commended Thrive Agric’s initiative, noting its potential to support smallholder farmers. He also advised farmers to take tree planting seriously, highlighting that Shea Agro Nig Ltd had partnered with Thrive Agric to raise hybrid seedlings.
According to Thrive Agric, this initiative aims to promote carbon sequestration, create new income streams for farmers through fruit harvests and carbon credits, and contribute to producing 10,000 metric tons of low-carbon grains annually. The program also included a training session for farmers on climate-smart practices, sustainable production, and access to structured markets, empowering them to build resilient livelihoods.
